Mexico City, Mexico, 1 real, Charles-Joanna, "Early Series," assayer R (Gothic) at bottom between pillars, motto PLVSVL in rounded panel, very rare, NGC VF 35, ex-Karon. Nesmith 3e; Cal-60; S-M1; KM-7. Nearly round planchet with most of legend visible, inner details sharp, well centered and devoid of doubling, a lovely example of a denomination that doesn't often come this nice, with desirable pedigree as well. NGC # 1915498-003. From the Potomac Collection and pedigreed to the Paul Karon Collection (Superior auction of December 1992, lot 144).
