BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer T (late 1620s), "hunched over" lions, PCGS XF40, ex-Pat Johnson. S-P25; KM-19a; Cal-Type 327. 25.85 grams. Broad flan with doubling on both sides, full shield flanked by •P•T• and O-VIII, full cross with full Z of date in legend beyond which are the bottoms of I6Z from the doubling (misconstrued as 1622 by PCGS, contrary to the "hunched over" lions of 1627-9 only), orange sediment in crevices, inexplicably slightly underweight. Pedigreed to the Pat Johnson Collection (stated on label).
