Wooden fid from Continental Navy ship (Revolutionary War). 189.8 grams, 13" long, 1¾" in diameter. A long, wooden wedge of cylindrical cross-section with sharp point, used for unwinding strands of rope on board ships, this example with an important provenance, the wood pristine and solid.
