USA (San Francisco mint), gold $20 coronet Liberty "double eagle," 1857-S, broken A, PCGS AU58 / Ship of Gold special presentation case with pinch of gold. 8" x 8" x 2-1/2" (box) From the second SS Central America salvage operation. Light wear on high points, surface hairlines and some typical bagmarks present, still retaining good luster and color. Pinch of gold dust is made of larger, rough nuggets. PCGS #35329639 (label signed by Bob Evans, chief scientist of the operation). Housed in special presentation case with certificate signed by the founder of PCGS, David Hall. Recovered from: S.S. Central America, sunk in 1857 in deep water off North Carolina
