USA (San Francisco mint), coronet $20 double eagle, 1856-S, encapsulated SEGS MS-62 Sea Salvage, from the "Fort Capron treasure" (1857). KM-74.1. Very minor rim-nicks and slightly grainy surfaces as usual, but no circulation wear. From the "Fort Capron treasure" of 1857 (AKA "Gordy-Ashley gold"), and pedigreed to the H. Bass collection, as noted in the slab, with photocopy of articles.
