US artillery sword, 1833 model, dated 1839. 1123 grams, 25" long. Ancient Roman-style sword with double-edge blade, solid and heavy brass handle with scale-design grip and federal eagle on pommel, imitative of French Napoleonic issues and commonly used by US forces in the Mexican-American War and later in the US Civil War, signed NP Ames, Springfield, MA, nice condition with very minor age pitting on blade.
