UNITED STATES, San Francisco Assay Office, gold $10, 1852, PCGS XF45 (SS Central America Gold Label). K-12a. Struck at the U.S. Assay Office of Gold in San Francisco by Curtis, Perry, and Ward after Moffat left the group. This pleasing example of a significant rarity from the "Ship of Gold" bears much sharp detail amid the minor handling for the grade as well as considerable luster across its surfaces with some red-gold toning. Recovered from: S.S. Central America, sunk in 1857 off North Carolina
