UNITED STATES, Philadelphia mint, gold $2½ coronet Liberty "quarter eagle," 1843, with pinch of gold from the wreck, PCGS XF details / scratch (Ship of Gold slab with label signed by Bob Evans). Lustrous piece with bold design details, several thin scratches on both sides, paired with a typical pinch of gold dust and miniature nuggets also recovered from the shipwreck. Recovered from: S.S. Central America, sunk in 1857 off North Carolina
