Tortola, copper "black dogg" (1-1/2 pence) private merchant token for planter Arthur Hodge (1792-1811), countermark H within frame on a French 2 sous (Paris). KM-11. 1.2 grams. The host coin is practically slick except for a faint A (Paris mintmark) under the countermark just inside the border separating the legends, the countermark itself having broken through the coin slightly, but clearly also worn from circulation after the mark was applied, darkly toned.
