Spanish stone roundshot (cannonball) from a 1588 Spanish Armada wreck in the straits of Dover off England, rare. 6 lb, 3.5 oz; 5" in diameter. Far less common than iron or even bronze cannonballs are the ones made of stone, typically in use in Europe in the 1300s-1400s (so this one is rather late) but undesirable for being too light, too hard to make and apt to break apart upon impact, which also accounts for their rarity now, this one very neatly formed out of green-gray rock, fully intact and also important for its pedigree. With photo-certificate.
