Small terra cotta bottle, Spanish, early 1700s or earlier. 399 grams, 6-1/2" tall and 2-3/4" in diameter at its widest. Unique shape with rolled lip and ridge on neck before the near-horizontal shoulder, also with slightly flared base, the surfaces half gray and half brown, as the glaze was protected on the buried side, a few small chips here and there but essentially intact, probably rare and important for bottle enthusiasts. Found in the St. Johns River near St. Augustine, Florida (inked onto bottom).
