Small pewter plate, German, dated 1708 but made in the early 1800s. 378 grams, 8-1/2" in diameter. Very well-preserved (almost new-looking) plate with 3 large hallmarks on the bottom, 2 with lion and castle (the arms of Meissen, Germany) and the 3rd with date 1708 below vegetation and the initials G.B.K., standing for maker Gottfried Benjamin Krause (master pewterer in 1815), with prominently raised 1-1/4" rim, a few minor dents and scratches from use.
