Small, iron Nuremburg chest, late 1500s or early 1600s but the exterior artistically painted in the 1700s in Peru, with original key. 1311 grams, 8" x 3-3/4" x 3-1/2". Intact and very cute little chest of classic design with two-bolt locking mechanism inside the lid, small handles on sides, the entire exterior vividly painted with a battle scene between two men (one with shield and spear and the other with a sling) on the front and two coats of arms on the top, perhaps in reference to a specific event.
