Small gold religious pendant from a rosary, ex-1715 Fleet. 3.48 grams; 5/8" x 1". Small, octagonal 20K gold medallion with broken loop at top, encrustation in crevices, portrait in high relief on both sides of St. Francis, most likely part of a larger rosary (see Sedwick Auction 15 lot 1058). Legend on one side reads, S o FRANCISCVS o XAVERIVS o SOC o I (St. Francis Xavier Society of Jesus). From the 1715 Fleet, with original Mel Fisher photo-certificate 69386 and photocopy of a display saying "This Gold Religious Medallion was recovered June, 2007 by the salvage vessel Carcharias captained by Mike Terrell on the Corrigans wreck site."
