Small brass cannon on carriage, Civil War era, with ownership provenance dating back to 1941. 57 lbs, 26" long, 4" muzzle, 1-1/2" bore. Nineteenth-century cannon with antique carriage dating back to a collection belonging to General Charles S. Bentley, a brigadier in the 2nd Iowa Brigade during the Civil War who later became a Chicago grain merchant. From there it passed through several hands. It's possible this important artifact saw action during the war. (Special shipping required.)
