Silver-plated dinner fork with maker's marks on bottom and initial W on top, ex-Medina (1917). 51 grams. 8¼" long. Intact and solid fork with graceful decorations along the sides and back, the initial W in the center of the handle on top, small maker's marks on the underside. The Medina was not commandeered by the British and was carrying passengers back to England from Bombay when it was torpedoed by the Germans, sinking years of memorabilia of the Carmichael family with it. From the Medina (1917), with certificate and Sotheby's S.S Medina auction catalog of May 1988.
