Silver dinner plate, intact, very rare, ex-Concepcion (1641). 398 grams; 9-1/4" in diameter. Extremely rare artifact from this wreck and first we have offered, as most were retained by the government of the Dominican Republic in its division with the salvors, this piece a typical bowl-like plate with 1-1/2" rim surrounding an about 1/2" bowl, very well preserved with some metal separation around part of rim and very small pinhole in center, nice silver toning. From the Concepcion (1641), with original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his Concepcion contract with the Dominican Republic, as well as a signed copy of National Geographic magazine of July 1996 featuring his article on the wreck and salvage.
