Set of cob 8-4-2 reales (the first two Mexican but the 2R from Spain). . 34.2 grams total. This wreck is known for pillar dollars, but it did have a few cobs, and the salvagers generally had to group them together and blow them out as they did not fit in with the various pillar-dollar promotions in the 1970s. These three are all corroded and short on visible details, except for the 2R, which has a nice cross and shield and bold denomination II.Pedigreed to the Downie's (Australia) auction #253 (March 8, 1994), with original lot tag #868 and original certificates from the salvagers. From: Hollandia, sunk in 1743 off the Scilly Isles, southwest of England
