Scrimshaw of the Concepcion of 1641 by Duke Long (1987), beautifully executed on genuine whale tooth and signed by the artist, mounted on a wooden stand. 626 grams, roughly 7-1/2" x 5" x 3-1/2" overall. Incredibly well detailed and beautiful scrimshaw showing the ship in its full-rigged glory on one side and in the throes of sinking on the other, mounted onto an oval wooden base, a one-of-a-kind piece of all-original material (as opposed to common reproductions in ivory polymer.
