SPANISH COLONIAL, mints uncertain, encrusted clump of four bust 8 reales, probably Charles IV and Ferdinand VII, dates and assayers not visible. 82 grams total. roughly 2¼" x 1½" x ¾". Choice thick encrustation in tan color with small rocks embedded, the four worn-thin coins protruding in two stacks of two, a nice display even if coins are featureless, somewhat scarce as a clump from this wreck. Pedigreed to the Steve Valentine Collection, with original certificate from the salvor/conservator. Recovered from: Cabalva, sunk in 1818 off Mauritius in the Indian Ocean
