SPAIN, mint uncertain, copper 4 maravedís, Philip IV, with several revaluation countermarks (one dated 1641 and one dated 1659), ex-Buddy Martin. 5.13 grams. While there is documented evidence of others being found, this is the only Spanish copper coin found by Buddy Martin, and it is a nice example at that, with two clear if overlapping revaluation countermarks to bring it up to 8 maravedis, quite solid with light surface corrosion and verdigris spots. From the Corrigans site, with photo-certificate from Buddy Martin, who found it in 1994. Recovered from: Spanish 1715 Fleet, sunk off the east coast of Florida
