SPAIN, Seville, milled 8 reales, Philip V, 1732/1 PA, very rare overdate, NGC MS 63, finest known in NGC census, ex-Trastámara. Cal-1624; KM-unl (358 for type). An important and elusive early milled 8 reales of Philip V, struck at Seville during the opening phase of Bourbon monetary reform. The clear 1732/1 overdate, unlisted in KM and absent from even advanced collections, reflects the practical realities of early milled production, where dies were reworked during a period of rapid transition and standardization.

The date 1732 is also significant to New World collectors, as it coincides with the introduction of the pillar coinage at Mexico City, marking the broader modernization of Spanish silver coinage across the empire.

With light gray toning over strong luster and sharply defined details, this coin ranks as the finest known in the NGC census, with desirable pedigree to the Trastámara Collection adding further distinction to an already rare and historically important overdate issue. Pedigreed to the Trastámara Collection (Aureo & Calicó auction of May 2015, lot 645), stated on label.
