Bold lettering on typically small and chunky flan, the star side slightly off-center, light yellow in color with muted luster. Period of the Governors. Transitional issues in Latin. Obverse: I N D C X I (Year of Indiction XI; 94 AH; 713 AD). Reverse: star, N SLD FRT IN SPN ANN XCIII (Novus SoLiDus FeRiTus IN SPaNia ANNo 94). A rare and historically important early issue from Al-Andalus, showing the blend of Latin script, Christian dating, and emerging Islamic authority during the first years of Muslim rule in what is now Spain.
