Royal Navy surgeon's delftware medical ointment pot, ex-HMS Stirling Castle (1703). 149 grams, 3" tall, 2-1/4" diameter. The Great Storm of November 1703 in southwest England wrecked over 50 ships, many on the Goodwin Sands, including the Royal Navy channel fleet which included the HMS Stirling Castle. Amazingly this delicate delftware artifact survived with only a few small chips on the lid, crackled glaze still visible, great for display. From the HMS Stirling Castle (1703), with photo-certificate.
