Riley, Capt. James. An Authentic Narrative of the Loss of the American Brig Commerce, Wrecked on the Western Coast of Africa, in the Month of August, 1815 (1817), rare. HC, VG. A very musty but intact antique about the wreck of an early US ship off the coast of Africa and the subsequent wanderings of her survivors as Arab slaves in the Sahara desert, written by the ship's "master and supercargo," with 10 copper-plate engravings and a beginner's guide to the Arabic language in the back.
