Revolutionary War-period small cannonball (1-1/2 pounder, amusette) from Ft. Ticonderoga, New York. 620 grams, 2" diameter. Solid and stable, with mottled rusty brown color all over and surface corrosion, smaller than the usual size found on land, the type of cannon that fired it known as an "amusette" and far more effective than the usual three-pounder. Found in 1947 by Tom Jones of Ft. Ann, New York.
