Republic of Texas $150 treasury warrant dated 1838 for military pay to the heirs of a soldier killed in defense of the Alamo (Edward F. Mitchasson), with his biography. About 5-1/2" x 3". VF with minor stains, a common item but curious in that the consignor was able to track down information about the soldier to whose heirs this check was payable, the blank backside of the piece with handwritten endorsement.
