Rare pair of gold-and-citrine cufflinks, ex-Fame (1822). 16.91 grams total. Roughly 1" x ¾". Two large, heavy, octagonal yellow stones set in a thick gold setting, on the underside of which are two bars across to allow for threading of an attachment. One cufflink is rich with dark brown sedimentation attached to one side, the other is clear with just a little bit of encrustation having found its way in between the stone and setting, a very rare piece of shipwreck jewelry, the first non-coin items we have ever offered from this wreck. From the Fame (1822), pedigreed to the Steve Valentine Collection, with original certificates from the salvor/conservator.
