Rare 17th-century German jewelry treasure chest. 3.4 lb. 9½” L x 4¾” W x 4½” H. Rare and unusually small 17th century German iron treasure chest, polychrome painted with floral decoration and gilt accents, reinforced with riveted iron straps and retaining its original key. The lid opens to reveal an impressive ornate engraved locking mechanism with elaborate scrolling foliate decoration.
