Potosi, Bolivia, gold medallic 1 scudo, 1840, Velasco, rare, PCGS AU details / scratch, ex-Whittier (stated on label). Burnett-18.1 var; Fonrobert-9526. Obverse with military bust above flags on poles within legend POTOSI EL REJENERADOR D BOLIVIA; reverse with standing Justice within legend PRESIDENTE CONSTITUCIONAL EN 1840. Curiously, Burnett remarks that Fonrobert simply missed the E in monogrammed DE, but the present specimen shows clearly that at least some examples have no E component at all. Light toning over muted luster, bold strike, small scratch under I of BOLIVIA. PCGS #32917089. Pedigreed to the Whittier collection.
