Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, Philip III, assayer not visible, probably from the Atocha (1622). KM-10. 24.2 grams. Well-detailed full shield and cross despite light surface corrosion all over (otherwise AXF, with peripheral flatness), lightly golden-toned, once owned by the cartographer who pinpointed the "mother lode" of the Atocha in 1985. Pedigreed to the Edward J. Little collection.
