Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, Philip III, assayer not visible, Grade 4, ex-Atocha (1622), mounted shield-side out (no bezel) with 14K gold shackle bail and galleon embellishment. 20.46 grams total. Novel setting for a coin without much detail remaining, now rather like a piece of art with a bright gold sailing ship affixed to cross side, topped with a gold bail mounted to a silver loop soldered to the coin. From the Atocha (1622), with original Fisher certificate 85A-167260 (tag missing).
