Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, Philip III, assayer R (curved leg), Grade 2, ex-Sebring, ex-Jones (Plate Coin). S-P15; KM-10; Cal-912. 25.83 grams. Good full cross and shield (the latter with light surface corrosion), full P-R to left, very solid for the grade and with desirable pedigree. Pedigreed to the Dr. Peter Jones collection, plated on page 219 of his book The First Coins of the Americas (2020), and to the Thomas H. Sebring collection (American Numismatic Rarities auction of January 2004, with original lot-tag #1552, with Fisher certificate #174697 (tag missing).
