Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, 1688VR. 20.96 grams. Good full pillars with bold date and assayer, most of cross visible despite moderate to heavy corrosion, small edge-split. With original certificate from the salvagers and pedigreed to the Thomas Gray collection and formerly displayed at the ANA Money Museum's "Treasures of the Deep" exhibit (2014-15), also pedigreed to our Internet-Only Auction #1, with original lot-tag #167, also with tag hand-written by Frank Sedwick. Recovered from: Association, sunk in 1707 off the Scilly Isles, southwest of England
