Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, 1684V+VR, very rare. KM-unl (26 for type). 24.01 grams. While unassuming at first glance (silvery and corroded), this is actually a very interesting rarity with two assayers VR and dates 84 and 1684 on pillars side but also assayer V and third date 84 on cross side, a seldom-encountered issue that was missing in Sellschopp and Calbeto (the specimen in Karon notated as "previously uncataloged"). Recovered from: Association, sunk in 1707 off the Isles of Scilly, southwest of England
