Good full cross-lions-castles, bold pillars despite crude pitting from corrosion, nicely toned, one big edge-split and a couple smaller ones, desirable pedigree. Pedigreed to the Dr. Peter Jones collection, plated on page 229 of his book The First Coins of the Americas (2020), and to the Thomas H. Sebring collection (American Numismatic Rarities auction of January 2004, with original lot-tag #1564). Recovered from: "Jupiter Wreck" (San Miguel el Arcangel), sunk in 1659 off the east coast of Florida
