Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, 1652E transitional Type IV/A, ex-Ponterio, ex-Mastalir. S-P37; KM-A20.4; CT-432. 22.63 grams. Broad flan with full date in legend, full interior details (shield side off-center), light surface corrosion and edge-crack, nicely toned all over. Pedigreed to the Roberto Mastalir collection, #IV.1-A.da1(4)1 in his book (page 105), pedigreed to the Ponterio auction of April 2002, with original lot-tag #1135, and to the original "La Capitana" auction (Ponterio, April 1999, lot 252). Recovered from: Capitana, sunk in 1654 off Chanduy, Ecuador
