Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, 1652E Transitional Type IV. S-P37; KM-A20.5; CT-unl. 19.49 grams. Choice full shield with bold king's ordinal IIII, full but doubled and corroded pillars, toned around details, edge-splits. Pedigreed to the Rob McClung collection. Recovered from: Capitana, sunk in 1654 off Chanduy, Ecuador. NOTE: The printed catalog lists this coin as Type V in error.
