Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, 1652E Transitional Type I, very rare. S-P37; KM-A20.1; CT-unl. 16.44 grams. Royal-like in detail, as everything is fully "struck up" and even the legends would be full if it weren't for light corrosion and thinning, with contrasting toning all over and minimal doubling, very elusive as the first transitional Type without bottom (third) row above waves. Pedigreed to the Rob McClung collection. Recovered from: Capitana, sunk in 1654 off Chanduy, Ecuador
