Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, 1618, assayer not visible, Grade 1. KM-10. 26.70 grams. Exceptional specimen with full and incredibly bold legends including full date and what appears to be FIYLPVS III for the king's name and ordinal, also full crown and denomination o-8, great full shield and cross, just with flatness on the mintmark-assayer that the certificate calls "RL" but is more likely T/PAL, no corrosion, nicely toned, deep and meandering edge-crack (stable). With Fisher tag and certificate #177139, pedigreed to the Stuart Auerbach collection (see lot 4). Recovered from: Atocha, sunk in 1622 west of Key West, Florida
