Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, (16)52E transitional Type IV, ex-Mastalir collection, ex-McClung. S-P37; KM-A20.4; CT-432. 19.48 grams. A late addition to Mastalir's work, with good full shield (slightly off-center), full but doubled pillars, cracked and corroded on edge (only), toned on fields. Pedigreed to the Roberto Mastalir collection, #IV.1-A.dd(5)3 in his book (page 298), and pedigreed to the Rob McClung collection (our Auction #15, with original lot-tag #502). Recovered from: Capitana, sunk in 1654 off Chanduy, Ecuador
