Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, (16)52E transitional Type II, extremely rare, from the Capitana (1654). S-P37; KM-A20.2; CT-unl. 20.10 grams. Choice full details all over despite moderate surface corrosion (VF details) and edge-crack, nicely toned, notorious Type with blank in center above waves. One of only two known examples of "die 2" of this Type, according to Mastalir. Pedigreed to the Roberto Mastalir collection, #II-A(1)3 in his book (page 61), from the Capitana (1654), with Herman Moro certificate.
