Potosi, Bolivia, cob 8 reales, (16)50O, with crown-alone countermark (rare variety) on cross. S-P35; KM-19b; Cal-1488. 22.44 grams. Broad flan with slightly crude edge (as made), full but somewhat weak shield and cross (lightly corroded), clear 50 of date, very choice full countermark (Ullian Type B, rated as R-1 but rarer in our opinion), same as seen on some worked silver pieces from the Atocha (1622), lightly toned. Recovered from: Capitana, sunk in 1654 off Chanduy, Ecuador
