Potosi, Bolivia, cob 4 reales, 1652E Transitional, McLean Type II, very rare, Ponterio Cover Coin. S-P37; KM-B18; CT-734. 12.79 grams. Superb specimen with choice full inner details (slightly off-center), two full crowns, very bold date in legend, nicely toned and corrosion-free, and somewhat famous as appearing on the cover of the original Capitana auction by Ponterio. Pedigreed to the original Capitana auction (Ponterio, April 1999, lot #246), pictured on the cover of that catalog, with photo-certificate. Recovered from: Capitana, sunk in 1654 off Chanduy, Ecuador
