Potosi, Bolivia, cob 2 reales, 1746q, very rare as made in a bird shape at the mint. S-P50; KM-29a; CT-1375. 4.5 grams. Zoomorphic cobs are highly sought and sell for a premium. This example appears to be a sideways view of a condor whose wings to the side have broken off (presumably cut down to too narrow a point), with bold details (especially the date and assayer and mintmark) on a specially prepared flan of even thickness and enough breadth to accommodate the design, attractively toned AVF with 2 holes, one of very few true zoomorphic cobs known (as opposed to cut-down normal cobs).
