Potosi, Bolivia, cob 1 real, date and assayer not visible, cut into bird shape after striking. 2.1 grams. This curious piece is really just an interesting colonial-era charm because practically all the coin details are gone (except, interestingly enough, the 17- of the date in the legend) and replaced with feathers, holed in wing for attractive suspension. Pedigreed to the Ponterio auction of October, 1992, with original lot-tag #795.
