Potosi, Bolivia, 10 soles-sized monetary medal, 1825, Chuquisaca, NGC MS 61. Burnett-6A; Fonrobert-9741. Obverse with bust of Bolívar inside legend PADRE DE LA PATRIA SIMON BOLIVAR; reverse with soldier and woman flanking globe inside legend . LA GRATITUD DE CHUQUISACA A SU LIBERTADOR . with 1825 date at bottom. Deep rainbow toning over muted luster, with minimal marks and slight wear on highest points, scarce and desirable issue as from the first series of Bolivian monetary medals struck after independence. (Note: NGC labeled this erroneously as Fonrobert-9740, which refers instead to a higher-weight version.) NGC #4927252-007. Pedigreed to the Gran Colombia collection.
