Parke-Bernet Galleries, Inc. (New York). Treasure of the Spanish Main (February 4, 1967), special binding with handwritten notes on extra pages between the printed pages (auctioneer's copy), the only one ever made and of utmost importance to Fleet collectors. 7" x 10-1/4"; 97 pages bound with notes; SC, F. One of the earliest and most important sales of Spanish colonial gold and silver cobs, gold jewelry, porcelains, ammunition, and silver bars and clumps recovered from the 1715 Fleet wrecks by the Real Eight Co., with many photos; but this example is unique as it is the auctioneer's own "order catalogue" (so stated on the cover) showing who won what and for how much and also revealing that there were actually a 16 new lots at the end (on a typewritten page) that were announced on the floor, priceless information that the most advanced Fleet researcher cannot afford to miss.
