Pair of scallop-shell (Knights of Santiago) jet amulets, Spanish colonial (1500s). . 0.07 gram.Small black objects (made from a hard wood), flat on back but with full ribbed-shell details on raised front, one slightly worn and the other with minor stress fractures, identical to specimens found in Santa Elena, South Carolina, and pictured on page 73 of Volume 2 of Deagan's Artifacts of the Spanish Colonies of Florida and the Caribbean, 1500-1800.
