PORTUGAL, 870 reis, Maria II, crowned-arms countermark (1834) on a Mexico City, Mexico, bust 8 reales, Ferdinand VII, 1817 JJ, NGC VF 30 / c/s AU standard, ex-Hubbard. KM-440.15; Gomes-29.38. Full countermark below Ferdinand's ear with associated stress cracks and marks on reverse, toned all over, weakly struck at 3 and 9 o'clock. Pedigreed to the Clyde Hubbard Collection (stated on label) and to the J. Schulman (Amsterdam) auction of April 1952.
